Position Summary

An Electrician performs panel building, machine wiring, assembly, commissioning, calibration, and installation on Friction Based Processing Machines.

Essential Job Functions

Primarily responsible for electrical assembly and wiring of equipment
Managing time efficiently to meet project deadlines
Assembles and wires electrical panels
Performs machine wiring.
Performs some light mechanical assembly
Redline electrical control schematics, wiring diagrams, electrical panel layouts, pushbutton station layouts, and other hardware related design documentation
Redline Bill of Materials listing electrical components required for hardware design
Work closely with Assemblers, Controls Engineers, and Project Manager during machine build
Installs machines:
- Electrical installation
Supports Controls Engineers in all facets of hardware design and machine startup and debug
Manages electrical supplies inventory

Essential Job Requirements

Education

HS Diploma. Journeyman Electrician or on-the-job experience in industrial electrical wiring.

(Degrees/certificates in other fields may be considered if the course work and experience supports the skill set listed below)

Experience

Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in machine tool/automation/industrial wiring

Required Skills/Knowledge

Ability to install cables, conduits, and fixtures safely and correctly
Ability to assemble and wire electrical panels
Ability to wire machines
Diagnose and fix electrical issues efficiently
Understands electrical theory, wiring systems, and safety protocols
Knowledge of electrical codes and safety practices to prevent hazards
1. Understanding of specific standards: NEC, NFPA 79, UL, and CE
Ability to read electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic and mechanical design documents
A solid background with industrial Controls hardware
Must have excellent communication & leadership skills
Ability to assess situations and develop effective solutions

Preferred Skills/Knowledge

Ability to perform procedures for calibration, device setup, and machine configuration
Familiar with NC programming (G-Codes etc.)
Proficient with Microsoft Office products
Foreign Language experience helpful (Spanish, German, or French).

Physical Requirements

Ability to travel (potentially internationally)
Occasionally lift or carry items up to 50 lbs.
Ability to function in a shop environment
Ability to work in an office environment
Visual Acuity:
1. Ability to distinguish different wire colors, read wire labels, and read fine print device labels
2. Accommodations as required for reading engineering drawings and office files.
Hearing Ability:
1. Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose changes in order to take appropriate action.
