Position Summary

Bond Technologies is seeking a versatile Technical Writer who can bridge the gap between engineering expertise and clear, engaging communication. In this role, you’ll develop and maintain technical manuals, training materials, and internal documents while also contributing to customer-facing content that support Bond’s marketing efforts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented and skilled at translating complex mechanical concepts into accurate, accessible documents. You should be eager to learn about Bond’s machines and Friction Stir Welding technologies, interview engineers and team members, and craft messaging that educates, informs, and resonates with both technical and non-technical audiences.

Essential Job Functions

  • Create comprehensive technical product documentation
  • Organize multiple tasks and deadlines with effective time-management
  • Interpret technical content to create machine manuals, operation instructions, and installation documents
  • Create engineering design standard documentation for internal use
  • Create assembly instructions
  • Create troubleshooting guides
  • Design customer training course content
  • Support customer-specific training content and operation manuals as needed
  • Support Sales team presentation efforts
  • Create content for BOND website, LinkedIn, and other social media efforts
  • Maintain and improve BOND style guides
  • Work with BOND’s quality management team as necessary

Essential Job Requirements

Education

Degree in a relevant field. This includes, but is not limited to, degrees in the following fields: writing, English, communications, or engineering.

Experience

Minimum 1-5 years of experience in technical writing; experience with machine manual development is desired.

Required Skills

  1. Lawfully eligible to work in the U.S. for any company without restriction
  2. Able to learn new technologies quickly and represent Bond’s brand voice across all written materials
  3. Able to comprehend mechanical and electrical engineering documents
  4. Able to interview engineers to identify relevant training and user guide information
  1. Able to create training documentation
  2. Must have exceptional written and oral skills
  3. Must be ambitious and self-driven
  4. Proficient with Microsoft Office products, with high proficiency in PowerPoint
  5. Understanding of and ability to create flowcharts

Preferred Skills

  1. Familiar with CNC machines & HMI interface from a basic user level
  2. Technical experience on high-force equipment/heavy equipment
  3. Familiar with AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  4. Product design background is a plus
  5. Videography and/or animation skills are a plus
  6. Foreign Language experience helpful (Spanish or German)

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work and function in a shop and office environment
  • Visual Acuity:
    1. Ability to work at a computer monitor
    2. Accommodations as required for reading engineering drawings and office files.
  • Hearing Ability:
    1. Ability to discern machine prompts and sounds.
